In the mid-90’s, Howard (who passed away in 1999) sold the chain to his longtime friend, Kent Clark, who in turn sold this restaurant to Mario and Rafael ten years later. On March 1, 2006 we opened our doors under the current name, Red Pepper Grill, but we continue to offer the same delicious recipes (known by Mario by heart) and we retained some of the original staff. Chef Uriel Castaneda started in 1986 as a Chef at the Cupertino restaurant. Waiter Eduardo Fuentes started in 1984 as a Waiter at the Palo Alto restaurant.
With the generous support from Los Altos businessman Tom Harrington, we are pleased to announce the renovation of the entire restaurant, including the outdoor patio. On Friday evenings Mario and Rafael work side by side, serving many longtime loyal customers from the all the previous Red Pepper Restaurants.
